It was 6:30 in the morning; as I was on the terrace of the house. I could still see the full moon. It was pretty as hell. The fact that the moon was still around in the morning, was more like the old year was unwilling to usher in the New Year.
In many ways, I felt it was symbolic of the fact on how we are unwilling to bring in change, and let go of some people. I am moving to Mumbai in a few days; and I still feel there is a lot to do. There is so much to know about some special people I met here in Hyderabad. So much more to do, and so many more things to say.
As the cold morning breeze froze my buns off, I could not take my eyes off the moon. I had not changed over the so many years; I was still a hopeless romantic as always. At that very moment, as I could only hear the faint ring of the bell at a temple somewhere, I swear I could hear the wind talking to me. It was telling me to look the other way.
I looked at my watch; it was 6:52 AM; and I could see the sun creeping up from under the endless empyrean. I looked the other way; the moon was setting. I wanted to look at the sun, but the moon was mesmerising me to no end. It finally disappeared under the covers somewhere; and I had no option but to look the other way.
In many ways, the cold morning in Hyderabad today taught me an important lesson which I hope to learn. Let go, and move on. I reluctantly looked at the sun; it was strangely looking beautiful now.

Brilliant !!!! Loved this short piece..
Thanks Dipti!
@Fali: It was indeed a very pretty sunrise!
wow What a captivating photograph . You write so well, simple words that touch the heart somewhere .Best wishes
Yeah, i took it from my friend’s photo blog. She is a good photographer. I took a similar one, but did not come out half as good.
This was also one of the last posts when I was leaving Hyd. They were all related. Mostly, to do with this one girl.
Brillant pic.,.. Dedicate these lyrics of a song for this…
Don’t close your eyes or I might drift away
Under the night my image bends it’s shape
I’ll be written on the wind like you never set a street
Heading for the moon
I reach out (echos) My pulse begins to raise (echos)
The crashing sounds are fears that never phased
Let them echo off these waves without as brave as they once were
Heading for the moon
Oh look how we ride over the white
And shadows chase us from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Oh heading for the moon
Don’t close your eyes or I might drift away
Under the night of never ending shapes
I’ll be wishing of the blue
I’ll still wanna send my stars
Heading for the moon
Oh look how we ride over the white
Shadows they chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Oh heading for the moon oh heading for the moon
Over the white
And shadows they chase from behind
But just put them out of your mind
Heading for the moon
