For many of us it is just another day.Let us take sometime to contemplate our growth as a country and what this land had to offer us.

Many of you to whom are reading this are getting at least 5 digit salary. Is it an unavoidable fact that this country also has a part to play in our success and peaceful life as much as our parents? Like our parents, this land has given us much more than just earth to live on. It has given us a place where we sleep in the night without fear to get up next day or whether we will get up next day. Opportunities, (to go abroad also:-D) Freedom. Imagine the plight of people in Afghanistan, Iraq. And also unlike our forefathers who had to fight to get us independence. We get everything which we want to buy and can buy too. And we are growing and India is shining. We have come a long way from sati, child marriage and untouchability.

I do agree that we have corruption, poverty, dirty and not so well maintained places. Government doesn’t do for anything for the citizens. Politicians are self centered. Where are they not so? Every place has corruption. I guess that has to do with the basic psychology of humans. And one can’t attribute it to the fact that we are Indians. Come on! How many of us don’t take advantage of the internet connection or the phone in our offices. It’s just that these guys are doing the same at their level of administration.

I am not saying we need to be blind to all these short comings. Instead of just cribbing and down grading our country we can feel Proud to be part of such a cultural heritage. At the same time do our small contribution to make this a better place to live. Also, accept practices from other cultures and to spit out things which are doing us no good like hate, caste and religious intolerance. We need to move ahead. Stand up for the truth. Educate ourselves to not just get a degree, but to what is correct and what is wrong. But all said and done whatever changes we bring about in our lives, we would remain the innocent young Indian. After all we are a young country. We still we feel that patriotic fervor whenever we listen to our national anthem, the Vande Mataram, Ye Mere Vatan ke logon, or even when we watch Rang De Basanti, Lagaan, Border. How many times has India lost? But come what may, in the next match we are out there cheering for our lads.

There is an untaped potential inside each of us. Many – Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Rabindranath Tagore, Chandrashekar, Ramanujam, Indira Nooyi, AR Rahman, – the list can go on. We are much socially aware than the previous generation. We are also on the move. Restless and always looking for some action. That’s all the more reason why we need to taking many impending issues into our hands to bring about a faster change. We will congratulate ourselves for being the part of the change in our own small ways; And our individual brilliance.

If you guys are too busy to read this, that also means we are actually progressing in our lives. ;)

Salute to the spirit of India and each character that gets attributed to us.
